Your culture Arab weddings
Zaffa, dabke and a proper henna night.
Arab weddings run on family, music and timing. The entrance has to land and the dabke needs room. We plan the whole thing so your family can host instead of manage.
For Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian, Egyptian, Iraqi and other Arab families.
01The events
What the weeks look like.
Every family does it differently. We ask before we assume.
-
Jaha and engagement
Tolbeh, khutbeh, shabka
The groom's elders ask for the bride over coffee, or the groom gives the shabka in gold. We set the room, the coffee service and the sweets.
-
Katb al-kitab
Kitb el-kitab, the marriage contract
The contract, signed before a sheikh and witnesses. We help arrange the sheikh, confirm the witnesses and the wali, and set a calm table with clear sound.
-
Henna night
Laylat al-henna
The bride's evening with the women of both families, in traditional dress. We plan the decor, book the henna artist and set the music.
-
The zaffa
Drummers, zalghouta and the couple at the centre. We book the troupe, walk the route with the venue, and cue the doors, lights and DJ together.
-
The party
Dabke, the kosha
Hours of dabke and a kosha for the couple. We size the floor for a dabke line and run the night from the zaffa to the cake.
The zaffa sets the tone for the whole night. It deserves a rehearsal, not luck.

Faith-observant weddings
For Muslim families: segregated halls or seating, women photographers and videographers, and help with the sheikh. Christian Arab families get the same care around the church.
How we plan faith-observant weddingsOther cultures we plan for
Let's plan yours.
We take on a limited number of weddings each season, so every family gets our full attention.
